WATER STORAGE TANK MODELS - ROOF TYPES

CorGal water storage tanks are manufactured in a variety of diameters, heights, and roof types. Tank sizes range from 6 ft. to 120 ft. in diameter with a roof, and up to 200 feet in diameter as an open top tank. Tanks with a roof have capacities ranging from 700 gallons to 500,000 gallons, while the open top tanks can be built with even larger capacities.

Flat seam roofs are an economical option for smaller water tanks ranging from 6ft to 9ft in diameter.

INVERTED ROOF TANKS

Inverted roof tanks, also known as funnel type roofs, are designed to catch water that falls directly on the tank roof.

OPEN TOP TANKS

Open top (no roof) tanks are available for applications that do not need protection from the sun.

OVERSIZED ROOFS

Oversized roof tanks with an eave overhang are a popular option for matching architecture or landscaping.

TANK ACCESS

All CorGal roofed tanks have a top center roof access opening and cover located at the peak of the roof. The opening is 22″ round for tanks from 6′ through 24′ diameter and 36″ round for tanks 27′ diameter and larger.

Tanks 12′ diameter and larger also have a side roof access and cover located on the lower end of one roof panel for access from the external ladder into the tank. The side roof access opening is either a 31″ x 18″ rectangular or trapezoidal 24″ X 16″ X 19″. The cover has a latch with provision for use of a padlock for tank security.

In accordance with NFPA 22, Section 8.7.5, fire protection tanks must include roof hatches to provide access for inspection and maintenance. All CorGal water storage tanks either meet or exceed this expectation. For water storage tanks that are not used in fire protection, an 18″ round access hatch and cover is available as an option for side roof access into 6′ diameter flat-seam tanks. A 24″ round access and cover is available as an option for side roof access into 8′ and 9′ diameter flat-seam tanks.
